The new Nigeria Professional Football League season will kick off on Saturday after a meeting of the Club Owners in Abuja unanimously supported its commencement
Goal has been reliably told that the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2014/15 season will commence as scheduled this weekend after the Club Owners/League Managers meeting in Abuja on Thursday morning rubber-stamped the kick off date as outlined by the League Management Company (LMC).
Uncertainties had enveloped the start of the league this weekend despite assurances from the LMC that the season’s Week One matches will go ahead this weekend after some club officials enthused that it was better the league kicks off after the 2015 general elections.
This was further heightened last week when the Club Owners scheduled an emergency meeting for Wednesday (yesterday) ‘to discuss important issues and also deliberate on the kick-off date of the league’.
